The Cheatham County School District has named Susie Kephart as the new Dean of Students at Cheatham Middle School.

Kephart replaces Dr. Andrea Bringard, who was recently named assistant principal at Riverside Academy.

Kephart has been with the Cheatham County School District since August 2012, teaching Lifetime Wellness and Physical Education at CCCHS.

During her six years at CCCHS, she served as the Physical Education Department head, graduation coordinator, Title I committee member, senior mentor teacher, freshmen class sponsor, leadership committee member, head softball coach and head girls soccer coach.

Kephart, a 2008 graduate of Sycamore High School, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from Tennessee State University in May 2012 and her Masters of Art in Educational Leadership Studies from Austin Peay State University in December 2017.

She was named the CCCHS Teacher of the Year during the 2017-2018 academic year. She will continue to lead the CCCHS girls soccer team, which she has coached since 2012.

Kephart said, “I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with the teachers, students and parents within the Cheatham Middle School family. I am ready to take on the challenges and expectations as Dean of Students to enhance the culture of CMS even more.”

She added: “It is already a great school and community, and I hope to make a positive impact on the school. I am very thankful for Linda Owen and Judy Bell for giving me this chance, as well as the CCCHS administration. I feel that I have moved from one great part of the Central Cluster family into another amazing part, and I could not have done so without the friendships I have made and mentors I have had throughout the last six years. The administration at CCCHS allowed me to grow into a great teacher, and now I feel I have the chance to grow into a great Dean of Students under new administration. I love Cheatham County. It is my home and I am honored to be a part of an amazing district.”
