The impact of music education on children is profound.
Music does more than just make sounds, it changes the way we think and act. The skills your student will learn in music will help them be successful on the stage, in the classroom, and for the rest of their lives.
Message from the Directors:
Parents, at the end of their fifth grade year, students and families are asked to make a decision about their related arts enrollment for sixth grade. Students have the option to choose between three separate pathways: they may enroll in 1) the related arts rotation, this time without music classes, 2) the SMS choir program, or 3) the SMS band program. Both the band and choir program are year-long courses that meet daily during related arts time.
We may be biased, but we firmly believe that when your student signs up for one of the two music programs at SMS, it is more than just an exciting day. It is perhaps one of the greatest opportunities in your child's life thus far. There are not many subjects taught in school where your children can have fun, learn a beautiful artform, and develop life skills needed to be successful beyond their school career. Please join us for this musical journey!
