I grew up in Davidson and Robertson counties. My dad is a dairy farmer, so I grew up in a rural area surrounded by Holstein cattle! I have a younger brother; it was our responsibility to feed the baby calves. My dad and brother continue to operate the dairy today. My nephews have joined them in the dairy business.
I attended UNA Elementary in Nashville, Cedar Hill Elementary in Cedar Hill, Bell Jr. High, in Adams and Jo Byrns High School. I graduated from Jo Byrns High School. I graduated from Austin Peay State University with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am married and live in Kingston Springs. My husband owns a music studio. He records and produces music. We have five grown children.
We have two French bulldogs--Annabelle and Buster. They enjoy keeping us company, sleeping, eating, and chasing each other around the house.
Before becoming a teacher, I was employed by the United States Postal Service as a city letter carrier in Springfield for 9 years.
I taught at Springfield Middle School from January 2000 until May 2009. Due to relocating from Robertson to Cheatham County, I became interested in working in Cheatham County to shorten my commute. I was employed by Cheatham County during the summer of 2009 to teach 8th grade math at Sycamore Middle. It is a move that has made me very happy!
