Teacher Information

Hello, I am now the librarian Sycamore Middle School. I have been teaching at SMS since January of 2000. I have taught 8th grade U.S. History since August 2000 to 2023. U.S. History is my passion. I dedicate most summers to studying historic topics more in depth at seminars across the United States, so that I can bring this new knowledge into my classroom. I want my students to develop a love and appreciation our country. I'm really excited to be the librarian and am here to help in any way necessary.

 

I have a Bachelors' degree from APSU with a comprehensive major in U.S. and World History. I have a minor in Geography as well. My master's degree is also from APSU in Education Administration, and I am working on a second master's degree in library media specialist at Murray State University.

 

I am an avid reader of many genres. I enjoy reading the award-winning books for the Tennessee Volunteer State Book Award list. Introducing students to their new favorite book is the best part of my day.

 

Students that run into trouble with their laptops will bring them to the library for me and my assistants to examine and send to the technology department for repairs.
